Vibration Monitoring
Vortex Induced Vibration Monitoring System (VIVMS)
The VIVMS measures vibrations and strain on tubing (riser) in water depths to 10,000ft, and sends the data back to a control room on the drilling platform. Increased demand forced oil companies to drill in deep water, so equipment to monitor vibrations on the tool string prompted AnTech to develop and produce the VIVMS.
When operators and service companies can monitor vibration and strain on a riser, they can disconnect the riser from the seabed and replace it, well before it fails.
The VIVMS was the first system to monitor vibration, strain and motions while suspended in 10,000 feet. The system makes it possible to receive real time data from many points along the riser. The data is then collated using a non-real time operations system without losing vital information.
If your company would benefit from monitoring vibrations subsea, please contact us for more information.
